Shockwave therapy

Shockwave therapy is a relatively new type of therapy used in the rehabilitation of muscles, sinews, ligaments and bones. It is based on the application of acoustic wave energy from the ultrasound range, transmitted using a ballistic cartridge moved by compressed air. This treatment is not the most pleasant one, but it is very effective. Appropriately selected treatment parameters result in the fact that the patient does not feel much pain and may only report some discomfort in the treatment area. This treatment is applied in subacute and chronic conditions of all kinds of damage to the musculoskeletal system. It is great for such popular injuries as “jumper’s knee” or “tennis elbow”, among others. It is also the most effective non-invasive method of treating heel spurs.
